When you apply for a job, you will be asked for a ‘reference’. This would be provided by a ‘referee’ - usually someone who you know well, for example your tutor, teacher, or an employer – but not a member of your family. You should always ask permission from the person you are asking before you give their name as your referee.
You don’t have to include your referee details, you can just put ‘references available on request’. This will automatically appear on your CV.
